Classic RolledWhole Grains,with Fruits& Nuts
Discover familia Swiss Müesli - the authentic and original recipe since 1959. It tastes delicious when soaked with milk, folded in some natural yoghurt and to sweeten with a handful of fresh fruit for your natural vitamins. To maximise taste and texture, we recommend always adding some grated apple to the mix, exactly as Dr. Bircher-Benner, the Swiss inventor of Birchermüesli and pioneer of wholesome nutrition, originally suggested.
We named this product "Dr. Bircher’s Choice", in honour of our collaboration with Dr. Bircher-Benner's son who helped us create this original familia recipe.
PREPARATION: approx. 30 minutes
MAKES: 4 portions
Ingredients
2¼ cups familia Swiss Müesli Dr. Bircher's Choice (200 g)
⅓ cup sultana raisins (50 g)
⅔ cup roasted hazelnuts, roughly chopped (80 g)
1¼ cups whole milk (300 ml)
1 apple
1 pear
Juice of ½ organic lemon
4 fresh figs (for mixing), diced
¾ cup plain yoghurt (200 g)
⅔ cup red grapes (100 g)
4 fresh figs (for garnish), sliced
Preperation
1. Mix the familia Swiss Müesli Dr. Bircher's Choice with the milk up to and including half of the hazelnuts.
2. Let it stand for 10 minutes.
3. Grate the apple and pear on the Bircher grater or cut into small pieces, mix with lemon juice.
4. Add to the soaked flakes with the figs (1) and yoghurt, mix well.
5. Garnish with the remaining hazelnuts, grapes and figs (2) before serving.
Good to know:
- Store in the fridge, the Birchermüesli will keep for 2 days
- Instead of dairy products, use milk alternatives (oat or soy milk, etc.)
